The Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital cardiopulmonary department offers a diverse array of services ranging from patient assessments and protocols to life support in the ICU to rehabilitation therapy. Whether an individual needs emergency help for asthma or a newborn needs help breathing at birth, respiratory therapy is ready.
The cardiopulmonary department also provides outpatient diagnostic testing, such as EKG, Arterial Blood Gases, pulmonary function testing and EEG (neurology) testing.
Sleep Study, located within the respiratory care department, deals with sleep apnea, a treatable problem. The sleep study center provides treatments including weight loss, mouthpiece devices, recommended surgery or CPAP therapy that facilitates better breathing during sleep. In addition, the center helps treat excessive snoring, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy.
