Jewish diarist and holocaust victim Anne Frank said, “No one has ever become poor by giving.” This week’s Hugh Chatham Way Highlight focuses on a team member who knows how to give and does so with a smile and a willing attitude. She works closely with many areas of our health system to ensure our teams have everything they need to effectively care for patients. Join me in celebrating Nicole Blevins, Buyer in our Purchasing Department at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Vickie Caudill, Materials Management Director, said “Nicole has a knowledge that’s immeasurable. She always goes the extra mile to find whatever we need and she never gives up. We are lucky to have her!” Melinda Pinnix, Materials Management Coordinator, continues by saying, “Nicole is very friendly to everyone she meets. She is an amazing co-worker and friend. Nicole goes above and beyond to keep the hospital and outside offices supplied with what they need. She is a true asset to Hugh Chatham.”

Thank you, Nicole, for being so dependable and supportive. Your expertise and commitment to our Vision is invaluable and we are honored to have you here at Hugh Chatham!

Q & A with Nicole

How did you come to Hugh Chatham?
I came to Hugh Chatham in 2009 from Alleghany Memorial Hospital. I previously worked in supply there.

What led you to a career in healthcare?
I did not set out initially to have a career in healthcare, however I do love helping others. While we don’t work with patients directly in our department, being able to get the supplies and equipment needed to our staff on the frontlines so they can treat patients and provide the best possible care, is a very rewarding experience.

How do you and your team exhibit STARS?
We have an amazing team in Materials Management. We each bring our own set of skills together as a team to ensure we deliver quality service to each department and practice within Hugh Chatham.

What do you like to do for fun?
Currently I am having a lot of fun learning to play guitar. I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and pets. I also love watching horror movies (good ones that is).
