Tony Hsieh, former Zappo’s CEO, said, “Customer service shouldn’t just be a department, it should be the entire company.” This has been our longstanding pledge here at Hugh Chatham, and through all conditions our team members come through to ensure exceptional care and service for each and every patient. At times it can be challenging to set aside distractions, adjust to the unexpected, and keep our own feelings in check. Some seem to have an invincibly positive attitude – always seeing the silver lining, joy in solving any problem, and attending to the needs of everyone around them first. This week’s Hugh Chatham Way Highlight focuses on a team member who naturally embodies these characteristics – Elizabeth Creed, Medical Assistant II at Hugh Chatham Family Medicine-Elkin.

Elizabeth Darnell, LPN/Clinical Coordinator, describes Elizabeth by saying “She is a wonderful team member — always willing to lend a helping hand and goes above and beyond in all ways possible! I that know that if something needs to be taken care of, I can depend on her! Elizabeth, you have the best combination of talent, skills, and attitude that adds up to great performance; keep up the good work!!”

Gail Blackburn, Medical Assistant, who works alongside Elizabeth, noted, “Elizabeth always greets our patients with a big smile on her face. Even if she is having a bad day, our patients never see that. She always lets her bubbly personality and sweet smile shine through. She is an integral part of our Hugh Chatham Family Medicine-Elkin family.”

Simple acts of kindness – a quiet smile, a polite word, an offer to help – can truly impact the lives of others. Elizabeth is the epitome of a top performer — naturally embodying our core values of Service, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect, and Safe Care (STARS). Thank you, Elizabeth, for always providing our patients and guests with the warmest of welcomes, and attentive customer service. Not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because that’s just who you are.
