Author Roy T. Bennett said “Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believe in the goodness in people.” This week’s Hugh Chatham Way Highlight focuses on a Foundation Volunteer who is not only a tremendous help wherever she is needed, but is also a source of inspiration and encouragement for both patients and team members. Join me in celebrating Shelby Brooks, Imaging Services Volunteer.
Kassi Gage, Registration Clerk, said “Shelby is such a pleasure to work with and is the definition of true kindness. She consistently showers people with love and compassion while her heart of gold shines brightly. Anyone who is lucky enough to know her; knows just how precious she is. I am thankful that I get to work with her and can call her a friend. We are always looking forward to seeing her in Imaging on Wednesdays! Hugh Chatham is truly fortunate to have an asset like Shelby to volunteer here.”
Kathy Wood, Reception/Scheduling Coordinator, continues by saying “If the world was full of Shelbys, what a wonderful place it would be. She is the most caring, giving, and all-around Godly lady. She has blessed my heart for 13 years and has taught me to be faithful, thankful and kind to everyone. We have had some great times together laughing, praying, and just being silly. This recognition is well deserved. It has been my honor to get to know her on a personal level and spend my Wednesdays with her every week. The Imaging team as a whole loves Shelby Brooks for all she has done for our department.”
Thank you, Shelby, for being so generous with your time and for showing kindness to everyone around you. You truly make a difference each week. It is a blessing to have you here at Hugh Chatham!
