Author, Idowu Koyenikan, said “There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests get together to work toward the same goals.” This week’s Hugh Chatham Way Highlight focuses on a team member who is dependable and a source of encouragement for her fellow team members. She is willing to help anytime there is a need and does so with a smile and positive attitude. Join me in celebrating Angela Lankford, Clinical Coordinator with Hugh Chatham Medical Group.

Leann Hooker, Director of Practice Operations, said “Angela habitually provides a positive patient experience and excellent patient care. Beyond her exceptional focus on customer service, Angela is a team player. During the peak of COVID, Angela worked several hours outside of her normal job role including Urgent Care, COVID units, check-in locations, ICU, and ED. She plays a critical role in our practice group, aiding in daily practice functions among several of our locations. Her teammates describe her as hard working, thoughtful, energetic, and caring.”

Jamie Castle, Nurse Practitioner, continues by saying “Angela is always available and willing to help. Her dedication and hard work embody the spirit of service that is Hugh Chatham’s guiding principle.” Another team member, Sandy Johnson, Medical Assistant II, added that “Angela is always ready to fill in the gap wherever there is a need and she has a compassionate heart for our patients.”

Thank you, Angela, for your kindness, your thoughtfulness, and your leadership. We are blessed to have you as part of the Hugh Chatham family!

Q & A with Angela

How did you come to Hugh Chatham?
I came to HCMH as a hometown girl. I have always been a patient with Hugh Chatham and saw the love and kindness they provide to the community. I wanted to be part of an organization such as this.

What led you to a career in healthcare?
My healthcare career began after watching my grandmother, an RN, care for patients, friends and family as a young girl. I always prayed that I could be as kind and loving as she was.

How do you and your team exhibit STARS?
My team and I focus on SERVING our patients and community in a way that we would want to be served. TEAMWORK is essential within my team. We rely on each other to ensure we are able to serve our community in an honorable way. ACCOUNTABILITY is also key. We hold each other accountable as we serve our patients with top notch care each day. In our practice, we believe RESPECTING our patients is a priority and you cannot respect your patients without respecting your team members. SAFE CARE is so important in our clinic. We must check two identifiers for every patient. Checking injection doses and patient allergies are essential to providing outstanding care.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to run. I like to get out and breathe the fresh air God gave us. I also like to spend time with my nine year old son. He is my reason and my why. We love to play ball, swim and hike.
