Hugh Chatham welcomes Heather Grant, FNP-BC

March 29, 2022 – On Feb. 15, Hugh Chatham welcomed Heather Grant, FNP-BC to Hugh Chatham Medical Group. Grant brings new energy and a wealth of experience to Hugh Chatham Family Medicine, and will practice predominantly at the Hays and Boomer locations in Wilkes County and the Independence and Woodlawn locations in Southern Virginia.

Grant attended school in Wilkes County where she met her husband of 25 years. After graduation, she served in the US Army before pursing her education in medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at Winston-Salem State University and her master’s degree at the University of Texas at El Paso. She also earned a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Sciences at Oceania University of Medicine. Grant has practiced for nine years, treating patients of all ages in a variety of settings including urgent care, critical access hospitals and hospice.

Grant’s clinical interests include urgent care and family medicine. She loves creating a bond with her family medicine patients and enjoys the critical thinking and variety of services offered in the urgent care setting. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, and kayaking to stay active.
