Hugh Chatham Health has been recognized as the cleanest hospital in North Carolina five times in the last year by Press Ganey. The monthly ranking is based upon a patient’s perspective of the care they received during a hospital inpatient stay.
Developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Press Ganey Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey collects information about patient experience of care supported by three goals. First, the survey is standardized and implemented to allow objective comparisons of hospitals on topics that are important to consumers. Second, the results encourage hospitals to improve quality of care. Third, the results are publicly reported, enhancing accountability by the healthcare facility.
