February 9, 2022 – On December 6, 2021, Hugh Chatham welcomed podiatrist Matthew Fernandez, DPM to Hugh Chatham Medical Group. Dr. Fernandez brings new energy and a unique perspective to Hugh Chatham Podiatry, an established physician practice located in Elkin, North Carolina.
Dr. Matthew Fernandez completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida and his doctorate at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio. He completed his podiatry residency at the University of Florida where he earned the leadership role of Chief Resident. Before joining Hugh Chatham Medical Group, Dr. Fernandez was at Carolina Foot Centers in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Fernandez’s clinical interests include sports medicine, diabetic limb treatment, and trauma. He enjoys watching his patients improve throughout their treatment and wants each patient to return to regular activity with no pain.
