How we “show up” each day matters. As management guru Peter Drucker once said, “Your first and foremost job as a leader is to take charge of your own energy and then help to orchestrate the energy of those around you.” I once heard that “life is 10% of what happens around you, and 90% how you respond.” One of the greatest aspects of being part of our team here at Hugh Chatham, is that we respond to all challenges together. Our core value of Teamwork calls us to not only contribute our personal best, but compels us to lean on each other through thick and thin. As Yoda might’ve said, “Stronger as a team, we are…”. This week’s Hugh Chatham Way Highlight focuses on someone who leads by example, and who supports her team with a selfless energy and a servant’s heart. Join me in celebrating 3rd Floor’s Clinical Nurse Manager, Melissa Bryant.

Kendra Park, RN, Assistant Nurse Manager quotes, “Melissa is an excellent leader who is willing to give for her staff!! She works around everyone’s schedule and is very accommodating. Her dedication to her unit is greatly noticed!” Leanna White, CNA, stated “I have worked with Melissa for about six years. I just love her. She is a great manager, She always has our backs on the floor. Melissa tries to help us with anything and everything we need. If there is ever a special circumstance, she is right there to help.” When she is not working as a Clinical Nurse Manager, Melissa continues to represent Hugh Chatham. Melissa has been known to volunteer at local events, promoting our organization within the community and encouraging others to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

At Hugh Chatham, our People stand united, displaying true grit, selflessness, and a passion to achieve our Vision – to be the best community healthcare system in the nation, with service as our guiding principle. Thank you Melissa, for investing in your team and devoting your time and heart to the People and patients of Hugh Chatham.
